Fibre Optic Technician

Ameeri Services Co. W.L.L. is seeking a skilled Fibre Optic Technician to install, splice, test, commission, and maintain fibre optic and structured cabling systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and maintaining safety standards on-site.
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, route, terminate, and dress fibre optic cables.
  • Perform fibre optic splicing, termination, and testing using OTDR, optical power meter, and other testing equipment.
  • Interpret OTDR test results and troubleshoot fibre faults, attenuation issues, and connectivity problems.
  • Install and terminate structured cabling systems (Cat6/Cat6A), including patch panels and RJ45 outlets.
  • Install and terminate fibre patch panels, ODFs, telecom racks, and communication cabinets.
  • Ensure proper cable management, labelling, tagging, and documentation in accordance with project requirements.
  • Assist in the installation of telecom equipment, including network cabinets, switches, routers, and related accessories.
  • Read and interpret fibre route drawings, cable schedules, and installation layouts.
  • Coordinate with project engineers and supervisors during installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment while complying with company HSE policies and client safety requirements.
  • Prepare daily work reports and support project documentation when required.
Technical Skills
  • Hands-on experience in fibre optic cable installation, splicing, and testing.
  • Proficient in using OTDR, optical power meters, fusion splicers, and fibre testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of optical connectors such as LC, SC, ST, and fibre patch panel management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot fibre optic networks and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling standards and installation practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.

Qualifications

  • ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field.
  • Fibre optic splicing certification is an advantage.
  • Valid Bahrain driving licence is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in fibre optic installation, splicing, and testing.
  • Experience in telecommunications, infrastructure, industrial, or commercial projects is preferred.
  • Experience working on projects in Bahrain or GCC countries will be an advantage.
